My buddy’s imac has suddenly died. (No video). A local repair shop tried to rip him off with a $200.00 diagnostics fee. The shop determined that the inverter board was good and the "neck assembly" looked good as well. The shop is 99.9% sure it is the logic board. Has anyone else had logic board problems with the 20" LCD imac? I have disassembled the imac to the point where one large black wire, (looks like a coaxial cable), is connected to the motherboard. Anyone know how to safely remove this large black cable?
