Hey there.

Haven't posted here much, I'm a bit more of a lurker.

I ordered an Intel iMac, and have had a few problems. I'll cut to the one thats bothering me. When I start the computer, it will connect to my airport network fine. When I then let the computer fall to sleep, it will not see the Airport network again once I wake it up. If I then restart, it will not even recognize I have Airport hardware installed. I have to shut it down, zap the PRAM, and turn it on. Because of this, my iMac hasn't slept in days.

I figured it was a software problem, but when I spoke to Apple tech support, they reckoned it was a hardware problem. I am VERY anxious not to send my iMac off to be repaired.. Does anyone have any views on this? Hardware or Software? Thanks

Since no one else has responded yet, all I can tell you is I've not had the problem, but I don't let my iMac go to sleep. (I let the screen turn off, but it never gets to sleep!)

You mentioned other problems, is it possible that there IS something wrong hardware-wise? Does Apple offer advanced replacement where they send you a replacement and then you send your old one back? (After they charge your credit card, temporarily, for the new one.)

Well, I have just arranged with Apple that I will call TNT to pick up my old iMac on the day the brand new one arrives BTO from China. Very cool.

One reason you didn't get anything about your networking question is that you posted it in the wrong forum. There's a Networking forum just for that sort of question. If you'd posted it there, you'd have gotten at least some interesting responses.
