my gorgeous powermac g5 dual 1.8 seems to have come down with a strange fan problem

i bought it second hand and i think its just out of warranty.

it has been running fine for months but now it seems to have no idea what its front dual cpu fan assembly is doing. it used to rev the front assembly then the back on boot and then maintain temp/fan relative controll throughout my work session. now when i boot, the fans just turn on and stay on. the rear assembly seems fine for now but the top front fan is running at a constant slow speed and the bottom fan is running constant flat out and sounds like a turbojet.

if it is a broken fan problem, can i order a new assembly from apple?

at the very least (and this is why i posted here) can i get a manual fan controll software to check that it isnt the computer itslef?

thanks mac dudes!
