with my iMac G3?

its been acting odd lately.

everytime i put it to sleep (to charge my MP3 player) and then turn it off to move it (it moves around alot) and go to turn it back on, it dosnt and i have to wait a half an hour for it to turn on. Also, everytime i unplug it, i always have to set the date and time because it always sets it to 2am on Aug 27 1956. is something wrong? by the way i have Mac OS 9 if that helps somehow

sorry about the yelling. im tired of posting on here and not getting replies.

We have an iMac G3, too. At random times during the day it wants to restart. Until just recently, it was plugged into an outlet that wasn't holding the plugs very well... if the plugs were bumped, anything plugged into the outlet would lose power. I finally replaced the outlet, but I'm afraid the damage may have been done. Did we glitch up the iMac's power supply? If it is, how much would it cost to replace, and if not, what can I do to stop the computer from restarting?

You need to get a replacement PRAM battery for an iMac G3 - run a search in Google to find some places that sell them such as this one or this one.

Hello there,
First off, here's the manual on how to replace the battery:

http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/iMa...stallGuide.PDF

Here's a great place to get all your upgrade stuff for your iMac:

http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/batteries/PRAM/

And NO, I don't work for them. I'm just a very satisfied customer! Also, click on the G3/G4 Upgrades and find your model iMac and it will give all available upgrades for your machine.

And here's a link for Service manuals for most Macs. WARNING!: They are complete service manuals so they are large and take some time to load even with a fast connection! They are well worth it though! When loaded just click File/Save as..

As far as the MP3 player..... not sure.
Good Luck!!
