Think I read somewhere about how there's a hack which lets one extend the desktop to a 2nd monitor* with the final-generation G5 iMacs.

Anyone know what's involved?

How do you connect a second monitor to the g5 :S

On the back of your iMac, at one end of your port column (not sure which end), you will have a mini VGA port. You will need to purchase a mini VGA to VGA adapter from Apple, and this will allow you to connect a VGA display to your iMac. Then follow the above link for screen spanning doctor to let you use the second monitor for spanning onto and not just for mirroring the iMacs display.
