I'm considering getting a Dual Core but I have a couple of pieces of software that run fine under Tiger 10.4.0 but won't run under 10.4.2+ and probably never will. I want to be able to put 10.4.0 on one partition or a seperate small HD. Will this work?

The software also runs on 10.4.2 (just not .3, .4 or .5). I think that the Dual-cores originally shipped with 10.4.2 (yes?).

The most important to me is Curvus Pro X. Apple bought it and it is now called Grapher in Tiger. But there are some problems with Grapher--first, it doesn't read Curvus Pro files and I have a lot of them and cannot figure any way to get Grapher to read them. Second, Grapher sometimes does funny things with axes and layout that Curvus doesn't do.

The lowest version of the OS a mac can run is what was preinstalled. That is, if your mac had 10.4.2 installed it cannot load/run 10.4.0 (or 10.3 or 10.2) regardless if we are talking about a Macbook Pro or a Powerbook or a G5 powermac.
