Just wanted to share my experience upgrading my 2.0 iMac memory
I went to Fry's to get two 1G DDR2 PC5300 SO-DIMMs, and they were
out.. :-(( they only had PC4200 modules.
I decided to give them a try, anyway. Got two 2x1G Mushkin PC4200
for $169, great deal btw I think.
Went home, removed the two 512M originally installed, and inserted
the new ones, and...
They work like a charm! :-) The system info says they are recognized
as 667Mhz modules... !!!!
Either I got really lucky in getting modules that are "undermarked",
or the Intel iMac doesn't really need PC5300 SO-DIMMs...
I'll keep one of the 512M modules to upgrade the macbook.. :-)

Good job! I've had good experiences with Mushkin-they're good people who stand behind their products. And as you found, it's not a big deal to install the RAM if you use a little care and patience.
