Ok, so, brought my Intel mini (1.66 Core Duo) home on Thursday, and it's wireless card isn't getting an IP. I've tried:

restarting the wireless router (Netgear, 802.11b)
assigning an IP manually with DHCP
assigning everything manually
turned off access control on the Netgear router
I don't use any form of security (WEP, etc...)
creating a new user and turning Airport on

I haven't checked the bluetooth card with a bluetooth device (I don't have a bluetooth device). I do have a powerbook (Titanium, 550mhz), with an 802.11b Airport card and it doesn't have trouble obtaining an IP.

I would like to avid wiping my computer, but will do so if I have to. I say this as I installed all my programs without checking the wireless card.

My wired ethernet works OK.

I have not yet called Apple. I may bring it into Twelve Oaks.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

John

Are you running the latest firmware for your base station? I had problems with an SMC 802.11b base station with an 802.11b/g iBook until I updated the firmware on the base station.

Are you filtering MAC addresses? If so, did you enter the MAC address for you Mac mini?

P.S. Wrong forum.

Updating the firmware enabled the Netgear mr814v2 to work with the mini. Thanks for the info! I really really really do not like updating firmware on devices when I can avoid it.
