There are 5 children in my house and they tend to destroy dvd's frequently!

Instead of buying another copy, i want to make backups and keep the orignals.

I downloaded MacTheRipper and am able to copy the movie to my HD but when i place that file into a burn folder it burns 1/2 way and quits on me!
What am i doin wrong? please help!

Also do i need to use a program to squash them down to 4gb or can i burn them onto a dual layer dvd with my stock intel imac burner?

In what form is the outputed file?

P.S. Back up or not, you are breaking the law by doing what you are doing. The DMCA says any copy of a CSS-encoded DVD is a crime. Not that I actually care, but when you call it a backup, it makes me think that you think that what you are doing is legal.

MtR, and Roxio Popcorn to burn the resulting TS_VIDEO folder.

This is a software issue, NOT a specific Mac model issue. We have an Applications forum for software questions, and this should go there.
