We have an eMAC, running Tiger 10.4.

For the last month our MAC has been freezing. We can be on the internet OK, but the second that you enter a site that needs a password the computer freezes the second the little "please enter passwoed" screen pops up. Also, most of the time when you click on one of the menu options at the botton it will bounce once then freeze. Just about anything that makes the computer think messes it up. Also, I dont know whether it matters, but whatever application causes the freeze will usually look all distorted.
The freezes are bad--the only way to get out of it is by shutting down the computer by the button on the back.

I thought it might need more memory, so I added memory so we now have 512MB...that didnt help at all. My wife tossed the start-up disk awhile back, so this morning we bought TIGER operating system, deleted all out old stuff, and loaded that. Now it freezes worse. I dont know what else to do but toss the thing...I like MACs but this is just getting old.

Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!!

Have you updated to latest version of Tiger? Which browser are you using? If all else fails you can still take it into an Apple Store and have a Genius take a look at it (assuming you live nearby one). And I'll go ahead and mention this before anyone else -- it's Mac, not MAC. MAC is an acronym, Mac stands for Macintosh.
