I have an imac g5
last one that came out before front row.

anyhow
the imac has decided that it will no longer play dvd's
I have tried burned dvds and factory.
rebooting...
I insert the dvd
it twirls for about 30 seconds
then spits it out without even an error message.

It has no problem playing cd's though.

I dont know where to begin

or nyone hve any suggestions?

It sounds like a good old-fashioned hardware failure. I once had a similar prolem with a Sony CD burner. It stopped writing one day. It would read, but not write. My advice is to just send it in.

EDIT: This is my 187th post! i hope somebody knows what that means.

You mean that your post count is the same as the name of the film '187' starring Samuel L Jackson?

I doubt it. It is at least not one I have heard of. Either way, it will probably be best to just take it in. If it is hardware, they will probably just replace the drive. There is nothing wrong with the warranty, right?

It should have a 1-year warranty, with 90 days of free tech support calls.
