A friend is considering building a DVR, I'm trying to convince him to use a Mac. Is the Mini a reasonable option? Any good how-to articles out there?

Thanks in advance!

The mini is fine as far as capability, but since it uses 2.5" hard drives (instead of 3.5"), disk capacity is limited (160GB max vs 500GB max) and expensive ($1.20-$2.00 per GB vs $0.34 to $0.60 per GB).

An external HDD may be a good idea.
