I've been attempting to get os x on my old imac for a while now in hopes of having another computer around with internet. It was at OS 8 so I updated to 9.1, from there I was told that I had to do a firmware update. Did that. Then I went on to install my 10.3. I put in the disk, hit restart, and then I get the little folder icon with a flashing question mark. From what I've heard this means that it can't find the startup disk, so I've tried setting the startup disk to the CD in the drive as well as holding down C while booting up. Nothings worked and at this point I'm kinda like Thanks for the help in advance guys!

Check the firmware update again. 10.3 requires (I think) 4.1.9
All opinions are entirely those of my employer. It's not my fault.
