Hello,
i have a brand new iMac dual core wit intel in it, but final cut 5 does not run. once i open it, it says that there is a configuration problem and i need AGP graphics. i checked the hardware it is equiped with ATI x1600. also motion 2 does not run. it opens and lets me select if i want a template or start from scrath or tutorial, but then after a minute or two it laods for less then a second and vanishes. anyone have any ideas on what i can do? thanks you

Did you cross-grade to the Universal Binary version?
The old PowerPC-only version doesn't work on Intel Macs.

My guess is that you have final cut 4, not 5. FCP 4 will not run on an intel mac, claiming it needs an AGP graphics card. FCP 5 will actually run on an intel mac, pretty well, and I even did a 5 cam multicam with DV footage using FCP 5 under Rosetta (it was the non UB version).

Follow Marks link and investigate the crossgrade, which you need to get for it to work on your iMac.
