I recently aquired at MDD G4 dual 867 from a company that I work for. (at a great price

) However, I have been reading about a recall on the fans and/or power supply to make them quiter. (including posts on this site) However, I don't think this one was ever fixed. Does anyone know if they are still offering that recall. Or if there is a good way to see if this one was fixed? Thank you all for your help. This is my first Mac. Long time PC Power user.

Apple is definitely not offering the free fan upgrade kit any more. I think that lasted about 6 months and I think that means it ended around May 2003.

I owned an MDD 867 that I bought new in fall 2002. I sold it about six months later due to the noise. There are some suggestions on how to quiet it down on xlr8yourmac.com and g4noise.com.

Thank you for your response I will trya new fan this evening and see if that helps at all.
