A friend gave me a ram strip - told me to try it in my computers to see if it would work. It is a hynix PC3200U-30330 256MB DDR 400MHz CL3

I have an iMac 600mhz PowerPC G3 with 256 ram installed & 40 gig hard drive

I also have an iBook clamshell with 128 megs ram and a Wallstreet with 190 megs

I suspect this will not work in any of my computers, but on the off chance that it would, decided to ask people with a lot more experience than I have.

Would it do any harm to try putting it in? Could I damage my new used mac?

Bought my iMac on ebay, and am truly enjoying learning a whole new system after 25 years on Windows.

The RAM will not work in any of your computers IIRC. The RAM is DDR, which, whilst not cutting edge technology, is a newer technology to that around when your machines were new. It is likely your computers use SD-RAM.

Thanks so much - I didn't think it would work, but no harm in asking - I might have been pleasantly surprised

Will have to hunt some ram
