In what sense?

The Dock shows you all open apps (those with a black triangle beneath them). Command-tab (the equivalent of alt-tab on Windows) will show you all open apps and you can cycle through them to pick the one you want to use.

option+apple+esc also shows you which apps are open and lets you force quit those you want to force quit.
NOW YOU SEE ME! 2.4 MBP and 2.0 MBP (running ubuntu)

Open up the terminal and type in "top" and you'll see every single running process.

Or, more reliably (because of Carbon process names, and long process names) use the Activity Monitor application in /Applications/Utilities/.

Not every one. There's a relatively small limit on the number of process displayed, something around 16. That's why it's called "top". The best is to open the Activity Monitor located in /Applications/Utilities (or type Command-Shift-U in the Finder).

The triangle will be to the left if you're a real man and have the Dock on the left of the screen, where it should always be.

And my Dad is Chuck Norris so don't argue the FACT!

top has no limit, other than the size of the terminal window. That said, I still agree that Activity Monitor is the better program.

My Dock is simply too big to fit on the left... how much more of a real man can I be?

I agree If he's coming from windows he's asking for a task manager type window, which in essence is Activity Monitor. I even have my Activity Monitor app assigned to a hot key combo of ctrl+alt+del (I'm using a standard windows keyboard)
