Hi, I'm running OS 10.3.9 on dual 2 ghz powerpc g5 with 512 mb of RAM and 86 gb available on my HD.

I began to have sound problems and checked the system preferences/sound/output devices. It says that I have no output devices. This is very strange to me b/c I have used apps with sound in the past and have played music and everything.

I was on the phone with applecare. They suggested that I run the hardware test disc. I did just that and the computer froze mid-way through the test and said something like "invalid memory access" or "illegal memory access". I did it twice and both times it was the same thing.

Any ideas?

my co-worker is having the same problem. dual 2.0 G5, 1.5G ram, 160G HD, OS 10.3.7.
