You can get the same part for a little less at Newegg

Otherwise, it's a good price; $130ish compared to Kingston's price of $150 even.

You DO realize it's a kit of two 512MB sticks, right? I don't like that sort of surprise myself.

HAHAHA!

I did NOT realize that. Thanks for pointing that out.

I'm looking for a 512 or 1GB stick (or a kit of 2 1GB if its at a good price) to add to my iMac Intel 17". Please help me find the best deal.

Err.. no. I don't think you understood. I'm looking for either
1 512 stick
1 1GB stick
or
2 1GB stick kit
for the best price

I didn't want what I originally posted... I thought it was 2 1GB sticks while it was 2 512 sticks. Which I would not want since my computer came with a 512 stick.

I could care less about the quality, company, or price as long it works.
Thanks

Ahhhh. Big difference-no, I didn't understand.

Start out at Kingston's, Crucial's and even Corsair's sites to see what the big brands want for what you're looking for and then shop. Note that Kingston offers links to resellers of their parts, which is where I got the Newegg link I posted. They're all worth a look.

I shy away from "Bob's Storm Door and RAM Co." products (if you know what I mean), but reputable names also include Mushkin, Samsung, and so on... Lots of companies sell RAM and stand behind it, but shop carefully because 2GB of RAM for a Mac is NOT going to be anything like "a steal."
