With a FW800 PCI card fitted in my G4 MDD 2x867, the extended test on the Apple Hardware Test reports a "fire/5/10" error code for the logic board. Without the card no error, and there is no error if the quick test is run.

I have tried two different brands of PCI card, Lacie and Miglia, with the same result.

I was actually running the HW test to trouble shoot a possible graphics card problem, but ran into this error. FW400 and 800 have been OK with the FW800 card for some time.

I suspect the error is because FW800 hadn't been invented when my machine (Aug 2002) and its hardware test CD (ver 1.2.6) was released, and that it isn't really a fault at all, just a test compatibility issue.

Anyone know any more. Google doesn't give anything.

Thanks

Mike

I'm having the same problems.
Have you been experiencing any kernel panics? I have and can't seem to put a finger on what it may be...

cheers
