I have recently got myself a g4 sawtooth 400mhz, which I have now upgraded with a 1.4 ghz processor and a nice new 160gb hd...

I want to use it for recording music and have just tried plugging my guitar into the soundcard (mic input) via my mixer and for some reason the sound isn't coming thru..

Is the soundcard that comes with this model of mac able to have these devices plugged into it, or is it for mics only...

thanks

Don't quote me on this, but I think the problem is that the analog input expects it to be amplified. Ie. if you take a stereo signal or a TV signal and put it through the analog input, it'll work, because those sources have been amplified (not sure if that's the right term). I'm not a sound person, but I believe that's the problem.
