If anybody has the original drivers that came with the retail version of the ATI Radeon 7000 card, if you'd be kind enough to send them to me that would be great.
I'm looking for the original drivers, from the CD (the older the better - preferably version 1.x of the Radeon 7000 drivers). Not the latest version from ATI's web site. I'm working on a crazy hack-tastic project and have my reasons.
Let me know if you have them! It'd be much appreciated! Thanks!

Working on getting the Radeon drivers to work with System 7? I can think of more than a few people who would be thrilled to hear that...

Yup. A person had contacted me describing how to do this, but I need the originals. Unfortunately, I cannot find the drivers anywhere, although archive.org says they were in fact at ATI's web site at one time.
Version 1.x of the ATI Radeon 7000 drivers. Apparently, this was before ATI combined all of the Radeons into a single universal installer later on. It will not work with this universal Radeon installer, I have already tried.

It worked with some tweaking! I have created a custom installer for Mac OS 7.6 if anybody else is interested in this sort of thing. Behold:

The graphic looks fantastic. Heck, the whole site does. It's nice to see somebody who appreciates System 7 so much, I love it.
I'm really curious at how it would feel with a Radeon and Sonnet's new 1GHz/2MB L3 G4 upgrade. Almost curious enough to shell out for the upgrade...

It will be very fast. Mac OS 7 will simply treat Sonnet's G4s as G3s. I have a 466mhz Sonnet G3 in a PowerBook 1400 running OS 7 and that is pretty fast (slow video though).
I plan to take my 8600 to a 500mhz G3, in addition to my now-OS7-compatible Radeon 7000.
