I tried doing a search and couldn't find any topics on the matter so I'm curious when everyone estimates Apple to come out with MacIntel Desktops? It's all rumours of course, but I'm simply curious since I'm sure many of you have your clever guesses.
I've been using Win-based PC's exclusively for over 12 years and must say that I'm worn down by the experience. I don't expect Macs to be perfect, but if nothing else, the UI looks to be more intuitive. Up to this point, I haven't been courageous enough to attempt a complete switch, so when I heard about Boot Camp I was intrigued. Surely I'm not the only one, very clever on Apple's part. Windows (just as Mac) users are an incredibly fervent lot, but I can imagine a huge switch happening as people learn they can have two slices of cake.
I've been ogling over the Automator application (?) and am excited at the thought of automating simple tasks. And all of the software just looks beautiful, functional, friendly. I don't want to bash XP/Win as everybody has their reasons for using x or y and it gets the job done, but I'm ready for a change.
Ironically, the more I look at Mac software the more I think about just dumping XP entirely, as in not even installing XP on a future Mac. I do audio-production and web-dev and there are either Mac-native ports (Reason, Photoshop) or great looking alternatives (ie, skedit instead of Dreamweaver).
None of this really contributes to the discussion of an ETA on a MacIntel Desktop ETA, but I just wanted to share my excitement.
