Well I installed my new Radeon 9800 256MB Mac Edition today and well now when I bumped my monitor cable, this ugly sound happened. I opened up my MDD and it seems the fan might be hitting the drive bays or something. Anyone else with a R9800 and MDD have/had this problem and how did you fix it? I am using the VGA port, if I pull down on the monitor cable, it raises the card a bit.
Our rules explicitly say to LEAVE OUT "noise" from thread titles like "Urgent" and "Help" and "!!!!". They do NOTHING to get your thread answered more quickly.
I would take the card out and reseated to be sure it's seated properly, but it sounds like something has been broken on the card. I hate to hear of such things because it's really upsetting when hardware gets damaged.
