I'm trying to save money if I can I'm planning on buying a new iMac 20" shortly (which I am very exited about as I've been using my PB at work)

I'd like to max it out with 2GB of RAM but as you all know Aplle charge through the nose for this.

Can I insert RAM sticks manually that I busy through Crucial or some other compatible ram supplier?

The last generation PPC iMac was dead easy, remove a cover plug the new one in and turn it back on, cake. I wouldn't hesitate to do it with the intel version.
