I just got my iMac tues, today I had my studio monitor headphones plugged in with nothing playing, and I was getting faint but extremely annoying "ground noise" coming through. It went from highpitched wheeze to mechanical sound and back and forth while I was surfing web.....

Anyone else noticed this? Any cause/fix? I hope its not permanent, that would be pretty much unacceptable considering the audio work I do.....

I get that on my iMac CD too
iMac Core Duo 1.83 Ghz | 1.25GB RAM | 160HD, MacBook Core Duo 1.83 Ghz | 13.3" | 60HD | 1.0GB RAM

anyone else, input please? I'm talking about an EXTREMELY faint noise, but in silence, it can be a real problem....
