My daughter and her boyfriend both have Mac Minis.
Is there a way for him to connect his mini to hers and just have it be recognized as an external hard drive?
They connected them together with a firewire cable but his mini does not mount on her mini's desktop.
Her system profiler says that his mini is there but it is not mounted.
Is this possible?
Thanks for your help.

You can use target disk mode. Connect them with a firewire cable. Restart one of them and hold down the T key. It will mount on the other computer as a hard drive. When you're done, eject the disk and turn off the other computer.

If you need them to be sharing files on a regular basis, you'll probably want to set up a network of some kind, though.
