I have an eMac 1,42 with 2x256 MB RAM (latest model october 2005)
Is it safe to replace one of these modules by a 1GB PC 2700/333 Mhz module (which is also 3200/400 compatible)? Or should I install the RAM in pairs?
e.g. 2x512 or 2x1024?

TIA

One module of 1 gb would be fine.

Mac Hammer Fan,

I also have the last revision 1.42 GHZ eMac. I put the RAM in at the same time but you don't have to. I have 1 GIG of ram (2 512 MB) but the max the eMac can support is 1.5 GB and people do that all the time so there should be no problems mis-matching RAM.

Best of luck

I added a 1 GB RAM module (bought on eBay) and have now 1.5 GB RAM. Very happy with it.

RAM is great stuff. Does Hammer refer to MC Hammer? Just wondering.

No, imitchellg5, it refers to Mac (Apple Computer) and Hammer Films. I am a big fan of gothic horror films: Hammer Productions.

I figured it refered to Mac but I wasn't sure what Hammer was. Thanks for telling me though.
