I have a dilmena with my Intel Mini.. I would like to have both digital AND analog audio output. The built in jack only supports one (given that I cannot find a combo plug which is only a wild dream anyway).

Looking at the info for the Griffin iMic, it also supports audio out. I wanted to confirm that it would be a 2nd output and not a "replacement" output...

so I'd like to confirm using the optical output from the Mini (or iMac) and also getting analog output (at the same time) (from iTunes in particular) over the iMic (or the Turtle Audio USB which also has audio out, as well as digital out).

I realize Airport Express might be another options, but these options are much cheaper ($30 vs $90).

Thanks,
Mike

Dunno about the mini, but on my Cube, I constantly "lose" the iMic. It's very irritating, cuz I have to unplug it and replug it for OS X to see it again.

I stopped by BB today and picked up a Turtle Audio Advantage USB dongle... has the same combo jack as the Mini (both optical and analog). Unfortunately its an either/or situation, the OS seems to force you to pick one output via the System->Preferences->Sound panel. When you click on the USB audio, the jack on the back of Mini shuts itself off.

So it appears no dual output with the Turtle.

Does the iMic output at the same time as the built-in?

Dunno, cuz the Cube has no output, which is why I have to use an iMic to get sound.
