I've just gone out and bought a mini DVI to DVI cable to try and connect my iMac to my LCD TV. However, I've got home only to find out it doesnt fit for some reason! It does say its gor a Powerbook G4 on the packaging, but i thought a mini DVI would fit any mini DVI slot (I have a PowerPC G5). Many thanks for any input.

The ONLY iMac to have a DVI port on it is the iMac Core Duo (ie the iMac currently available). All G5 iMacs had a mini VGA port on them - and for this reason, the adaptor you bought will not fit.
iMac Core Duo 1.83 Ghz | 1.25GB RAM | 160HD, MacBook Core Duo 1.83 Ghz | 13.3" | 60HD | 1.0GB RAM
