Hello Everyone,
I am a newbie to this forum.. I purchased a powermac g5 2ghz and would like to add 1-2 reliable hardrives to use with my Pro Tools le set-up. I understand that serial-ata is what should be used, my question is any suggestions on what brand?

Thank you, BC

Just be aware of the issues people have been having with SATA II drives on G5s, since the bugs seem to continue to pose problems for people.

250-300GB is the sweet spot pricewise just now $/GB. Seagate, Maxtor, Western Digital are all so close in quality and cost it makes no odds.

My vote is for Maxtor MaxLine3 but have a look here for any possible issues http://forums.xlr8yourmac.com/drived....drivedb.lasso

I added a 160GB SATAII Seagate. It's a bit slower than the OEM Western Digital, but no slouch by any means. I use it as my daily mirror drive.
