Hi,
Is the x800xt AGP 8x card still the best option for the 2nd gen G5s? Not the current lot with PCI-x, the ones that still ran on AGP graphics?

I've been watching a few X800XT cards on ebay, but they just seem to be getting rarer and more expensive. Are they not being made anymore?

I'd like to be able to spend about $80 and get a better one than what I've got in now, (GeForce FX 5200 - 64mb). I originally compromised on the video card to get a better basic system, knowing I could upgrade later. But I can't afford the $400+ that the X800XT is going for. Anyone got any recommendations for affordable video cards that are a lot better than the one I've got? Is mine quite outdated now?

Unlikely you will get an X800 XT that cheaply. You might consider R9600pro/R9650/R9600XT/R9800pro/R9800SE/R9800XT.

I just picked up an R9800XT for `$70.00 shipped from ebay. If I ever see an X850XT come up, I'll be all over it. Been snaked dozens of times on X800XT auctions.
