So I ordered some RAM to upgrade my intel duo mini, and I'm having trouble getting it to recognize all the installed RAM. I ordered two 1GB chips. (Patriot memorty from Newegg, which everyone says works great with the intel imac)

Here is what I've done:
Both 1GB installed: OS X Sees 1GB
Swapped positions: Same
Installed only one chip in upper slot: Same
Installed other chip in upper slot: Same

It doesn't seem like the ram is bad because either chip works fine when installed alone. When I install both, it works fine, but its like it just doesn't see the second chip.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

When you start up the Mac mini listen carefully for 3 short beeps. If it beeps 3 times, you have bad RAM. Even if it doesn't, it could be bad. Call Newegg and they should send you a new module.

Have you tried one RAM stick in the lower slot? Maybe that slot is bad. If you only have RAM in the lower slot, and the computer doesn't boot (and after verifying that both sticks are good) the lower slot is bad.

There is a good chance the RAM has not been seated properly. These Intel Macs require a huge amount of force to get the RAM to seat - much more than you would think it would withstand before breaking.
iMac Core Duo 1.83 Ghz | 1.25GB RAM | 160HD, MacBook Core Duo 1.83 Ghz | 13.3" | 60HD | 1.0GB RAM
