I'd like to buy one of the these. Has anyone any idea which is best?

I quite like the sound of the ministack, but I can't find a vendor in the uk. The Minimax is on the apple site, but reviews mention that it is loud. I know nothing really of the Lacie.

I'm looking at 250GB-350GB. I definitely need more USB ports in my setup. If I used firewire connection to my mac mini, would it stop the USB ports working? Would I notice any speed increase compared to my mac's internal drive? Would it be slower than my other 7200rpm external HDD?

I think it's a great idea, at least in concept, but are they any good?

Love to have your thoughts...

I have a 160gb MiniMate and I installed MacOS onto it. I think that it made it a little faster with the faster 7200 rpm drive in the minimate

I don't have any of them, but I have been looking at the ministack. I have an extra HDD lying around, and could use the extra ports that come with the ministack, so that's what I'm pretty much looking at getting at the moment.

If you need a faster drive, you may choose another option. For me, the extra ports are necessary while the speed of the drive is somewhat secondary.
