Hi there can anyone help?

Im planning to purchase a mini VGA to composite video adapter for my two year old eMac - I want to watch quicktime files on a tv screen - ive heard stories that older powerbooks and macs that have the mini vga port work ok when mirroring to an external monitor through VGA but dont recognise a composite video or S-video output. Before I buy the adapter could anyone tell me if they are aware of these problems. The new eMacs are advertised as supporting s-video and composite video but as mine is two years old maybe there will be problems. Anyone help? many thanks
