I am at wits end with my G5 and the darn power supply chirping. I have used the CHUD tools to disable napping but am still hearing various annoying sounds emitting from the machine. I am ready to throw it out of the window and buy a new one. I have nightmares with little chirps, it's so bad.

Can anyone with a newer G5 comment if Apple has fixed this annoying, unacceptable condition?

From what I've heard, the latest rev G5s are the quietest yet. I had a rev. C Dual 2.0 and it chirped like crazy. You might want to wait until the Intel towers come out though and see what that brings.

I got a quad at work this month, it is as silent as the G5 1.6 I was using prior. Well except when the DVD drive starts spinning up...
