How does my Powermac compare to the MacBook Pro?

I have a first generation dual 2.0GHz Powermac G5. I was wondering how it compares performance wise with the 2.0GHz Core Duo MacBook Pro. Would anyone know the answer?

As always, it varies depending on what you do.

They run at about the same speed according to the Creative Mac article. ^^^ But, that means the MacBook Pro is technically faster because it only has a 5400RPM hard drive. If if had a 7200, like the PowerMac, it would be "much" faster. Just a little note...

7200RPM hard drives don't mean they have faster data throuput (http://www.geek.com/htbc/buy/harddrby.htm)

I have seen MacBook Pro 2ghzs beat PowerMac G5 2ghz Dualies before at java stuff.

Well I'm replacing my Dual 2Ghz G5 with a MBP. So yeah - overall i think its about the same, slightly faster.

It also replaces My PC and old iBook - all that hardware in a small MBP case... bring on Merom
I free'd my mind... now it won't come back.
