I'm late to this party, I realize.. I bought a used MDD (I need a tower for the drive bays, but not anything faster than this MDD)

I've been researching the MDD noise issues, and found some (but not a lot) of discussion about nap mode and the CHUD tools.

I've installed CHUD 3.5.2 (I believe) and the proc temp decrease is substantial...

a) what is nap mode doing?
b) what are the down-sides? (other than some instability reports I saw)
c) did Apple ever re-enable it for the 7455 in any future releases?

Thanks,
Mike
