i have a trouble with an imac 333 rev b...
it works fine if i turn it on serious intervals of time.. about months!
but after some use it dies..

when turned on, the on button turns amber, no video, no chime, only the fan. also the led in the logic board is up.

i try to reset the logic board, change the power cord but nothing...

i will apreciate your expertise.
thanks!

I have the same iMac & had exactly the same problem. For me, it turned out to be a faulty Ram chip in the upper slot (was 128). I took it out leaving the 32Mb in the lower and it worked fine with its then OS - 9 (once I turned virtual memory on). I bought a new 128Mb chip and its worked ever since. Then again, my beige G3 also did the same thing and its problem was the pram battery as seanc suggested.
