Okay guys,
I bought this Imac G3 an upgrade CD/DVD drive with 40GB and 768MB hard drive. The reason I got it is that it had the new Mac 10.4 with iLife'06. The guy said he freshly installed these programs however he did not receive the OS cd's. When I got the Mac in the mail I had the OS X cd's with the iLife '06 because I was going to use the IMac for movie editing anyway. I put the iLife '06 cd in and it says it cannot load the program because it has to be a G4 or better, so now I can't download the imove HD that I was wanting from the cd's. I called Apple and said the iLife '06 would not work with a G3 iMac. In order to get something in the computer for movie editing I tried to put imovie 2 in the iMac and it told me that instead of the OX 10.4 that I needed the OS 9.1 or better. So I installed the OS 9.1 in the iMac and when I done that I can no longer play DVD's or use my external DVD drive to record and play DVD's as well. What happened to the OX 10.4 that was on the iMac before I put the OS 9.1 into it?? I would like to get the DVD drive to work like it did before I installed the OS 9.1. Can anyone help.

Thanks,
Scott
