I'm curious why threads are being closed because they should go in the 'official' thread?

For ease of readability and searching, wouldn't it be better to have seperate threads that talk about the "Power Mac & Mac Pro" ... instead of pushing all Mac Pro discussions into ONE thread?

I think with new products there tends to be major overlap in the topics. So at least for the first couple weeks it makes sense to keep the threads limited. After the initial commontion dies down I'm sure single threads will be allowed.
