Hey all...

I was wondering whether anyone may have a good website for purchasing a 1GB stick of RAM for my Intel 20" iMac?

Has anyone seen good deals on these sticks lately?

I am staying far away from buying from apple.ca.

I am in Canada (Ottawa) if that matters.

Thank you......

Great price, good service, no hardware issues.

Then there's always Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820208037

$68 AR each; read some of the reviews from MACaroosers, including iMac Duos.

Kingston or Crucial r geared to Mac users! Think warranty what's the chance that world dominated company like Kingston or Crucial will go bellyup - slim. Look at the trend in prices past couple years: profit margins are soooooo slim for these small companies (like muskin) memory companies are folding !!!!

+1

Newegg has been the place for me. I've bought memory for my 20" iMac and Mac Mini there. No problems at all.

Newegg and Corsair or Mushkin. Forget inflated Crucial prices simply because they advertise "mac compatible". Crucial's rep is built on myth. For instance, when I ran ECC RAM in certain dual T-Bird mobo's, the failure rate of incoming RAM was 25%. From Crucial. That's not heresay, that's real world, and it was matched by others who used the same Crucial ECC RAM.

Corsair's and Mushkin's reputation is built on the experience of tens of thousands of PC performance nuts who depend on it.

I have two 1GB Corsair sticks in my Intel 2Ghz which perform flawlessly. No mac tax.

Luck.

Does the 20" Intel iMac require memory to be installed in pairs?

No, but you get better performance if you do.

NCIX.com - Canada's Premier Computer Store - Great Technology, Service and Selection.

I recently bought my RAM from there. They have all the normal brands for pretty cheap prices. I bought a 1 GB corsair stick for $111 CAD at the time, and although the first stick was faulty NCIX had no issues with replacing it promtly (they overnight Aired it back to me!) All is well now, and I'm glad I didnt have to spend a fortune through Apple.

Here's the direct link to the RAM you'd want to purchase:

NCIX.com - Buy Memory (RAM) In Canada.
