PowerMac G4 733 - Sound Options?

I recently picked up a Powermac G4 to use as a music/file server, but for right now I am just going to play music directly from it. However, the built in sound seems kind of crappy. Speakers have to be hooked up through the headphone jack and I am not sure if that is the best sound quality. I have a SB Live 5.1 in my Windows box, is there firmware/drivers to make it work on the Mac? I was thinking about getting the JBL Creature II 3-Piece Powered Speaker System since Amazon has it on sale. I have 5.1 system, but it is a basic system from Hercules. The JBLs have great reviews.
