Hey y'all,
I'm new here, but have been a mac user for quite a while. My first was a Quadra 840av. Remember that one?

Anyway, I've got a question. I have a machine here, Power Mac G4 (FW800) 1.25 Dual. It currently has 2 HDs in it, & both are Ultra ATA/100.
I also have another Ultra ATA/100 spare drive lying around that I want to throw in the box. I was reading specs on the apple site that says "—Support for up to four internal ATA drives (two Ultra ATA/100 and two Ultra ATA/66)"

Does that mean that I cannot install this drive in addition to the other two?

Thanks

Yes, you can install it on the ATA66 bus. It'll work fine.

Throughput will just be a tad slower than it would if it was on a ATA/100 bus, but yes it will work fine

If you need the full speed and have an empty pci slot, you could always add an ATA/133/100 controller and connect it to that also .......
