how many of you miss the sleek design of the imac g4? the new imac design looks so boring to me compared to the G4. i was looking on ebay and the 20 in looks pretty enticing but i'm not so sure about the speed of the computer. that's the only thing stopping me from getting one. any comments on the G4 design compared to the current imac?

Do a quick search, there was a thread like this a month or so ago which would help you a lot.

The lamp shade? I tell you, the design made it easier for us to show our customers their purchase as we could swing the display around. I wouldn't say I miss it though. The base really bugged me. It looked very strange and upgrading it was just awkward. I always felt like I was going to break it every time I laid it down. The neck was prone to failure.

I own the new Intel iMac and I am in love with it. If you ever think that design is boring, lay it down and open up the back. Nothing boring about that design. Amazing!

I think the iMac G5/Intel is more ideal than the iMac G4. The G4 was cool, though.

i didnt like how the base would begin to yellow when it aged, and the two whites were two differnt shades. sure i own an intel imac so my pov is biased, but ill take the g5/intel imac design vs the g4 hands down.

I much preffer the iMac G4 design. It would be as powerful as my single 1,25 GHz Power Mac and for sure not that loud.
