Ive recently been given an old G3 imac, the old blue & White one. Its running 0S 9.
I would like to upgrade it to run OS X to allow me to run the Creativce Suite design package. I realise that i will need to install more ram etc. Is there much involved when attempting to remove 0S9 and install OSX? I only have a basic level of understanding on how macs run. Also will the Old G3 be stable enough to support this software. I've installed a DVD drive and i'm in the process of installing 1 gb of ram.

I have just done this upgrade to OSX 10.3.9 and everything works like a charm. I also have 1 gig of ram and a 40 gig HD in this G-3. I used an external firewire DVD to read the OSX 10.3 cd.

OK Thanks,

Just out of interest, Is you G3 the first gen TRay Loader, or is it the newer Slot Loading Version. If its the Tray Loader, Does it see the whole 1gb ram you installed it can it only use 512mbs.
