So I sold my iMac G5 iSight and got a Duo Core mini...not exactly an upgrade in itself, but the 20" ADC sure is .

Anyway, when I bought it yesturday I did not have time to have them install extra memory, so I call them up today and the guy tells me it is $200 for a 1 gig upgrade. Does this sound right to you? I know on apple.com you can customize the mini, upgrading to 1 gig costs $100 which is much more reasonable. I'm not looking to drop another $200 for 512 megs more, it seems ridiculous to me. Is this what other mini owners have paid or was I misquoted? Thanks

O hell no, no he didnt! Screw Apple from the behind when it comes to RAM, excuse my French. For $198, u can get 2gb of RAM for the Intel Mac Mini. Just visit my fav ram site, Compare prices on Mac and PC computer RAM and digital camera memory. Find the lowest priced memory, flash, ram and USB pen drives. - dealnews.com

Don't buy more RAM from Apple-they indeed charge out the proverbial wazoo for it. You can typically find the right part for HALF (or less) of what Apple wants through the "big names" in RAM like Kingston, Crucial, and Corsair.

Make sure you double check to get the RIGHT part for a Mini-using the configurator on the sites for all three of the companies I listed WILL get you the right part. The link nabilanwar posted is NOT for RAM for the Mini-the Mini uses DESKTOP RAM, NOT SO-DIMMs.

I do not understand, i think u got me wrong. I linked to the home page of the site, from which u find ur ram using the dropdown browser. The main page shows popular SO-DIMM memory.

This is a direct link to MacMini Intel RAM, the 2gb prices. 'http://dealnews.com/memory/prices/systems/Apple-Mac-mini-Intel-PC2-5300-DDR2-SO-DIMMS/41592/2GB.html'

Oops. My bad. The Intel Mac Mini DOES use SO-DIMMs. The G4 Mini uses desktop RAM. Sorry.
