Hello, I am a loving owner of a buggy macbook pro and an old emac. I used to use the emac for photoshop or whatever, but it's specs are pretty old and now it's mainly a file server, slow media center, and vnc server. But I think it's time to sell it.

And I really want an intel mac mini. However, I need a reason for my girlfriend, who I live with, to justify why I'm going to spend a couple of hundred dollars for a computer to do the same thing that the one I have does. I'm clearly not experienced in this sort of negotiation, so any sort of help would be appreciated.

Btw, how much do you think I could get for the emac. I'm planning on putting 10.4 on it, but besides that it's the factory gen2 emac with no upgrades.

I'd say you should be able to get $200 for your eMac. As for the excuse to buy, is it your money or hers?
