Recently switched to Macs with the purchase of an iMac w/Intel Core Duo chips. I have a SanDisk e260 flash .mp3 player (please don't hold that against me - I purchased it before I got the Mac!). When I connect the player via USB to the iMac, the player registers the connection (the player screen shows that it is connected and the battery charger shows the USB charging the battery). The iMac, however, does not register the presence of the player. I know there may be compatibility issues with iTunes, but because of how the e260 is set up I thought it would at least register as a USB drive somewhere. Any thoughts (besides returning the e260) about what could be happening or where I should look for answers would be gratefully appreciated!

The System Requirements don't mention the Mac anywhere, so you might be out of luck. The only solution I can think of is to use a third-party application.

Have you tried the MSC mode instead of MTP ? (Settings -> USB Mode -> MSC)

Thanks for the quick reply - turns out there is a "USB Mode" switch on the device that needed to be changed to be used in the "drag and drop method" Works like a charm now!

Edit: thanks, dataarea - that did the trick!
