Does anyone know the exact ram i need for

Apple PowerMac G3 B&W (300MHz PowerPC G3 Processor, 64MB RAM, 6GB Hard Drive) Tray Loading

and what the maximum ram is it can take? Plus does it make a great deal of difference spreading the ram equally over the 4 modules, i.e 4 x 256mb modules.

The B+W G3 takes PC100/133 Ram modules. The maximum size it can handle is 256mb which can give you a total of 1gb of Ram.

so the maximum in each slot is only 256mb, i was looking at getting a 512mb module. Ive looked on ebay for the 256mb but havent seen that many for sale.

do you mean it takes PC100 and also PC133?

My friend says he can order me some standard PC100 256mb modules from his work. He works with PC's though. I take it, its just the standards modules that it can take. There is no specific requirements when buying it for a Mac yea?

Try and see if you can get some double sided RAM, if not you might end up with the Mac only seeing half of the memory...

Yes pc100 or pc133. It will only recognize 256mb if you put 512mb in there.
